We’re still proceeding down LB, now between third and first, an area with the usual
Honky Tonk Central
mix of Star attractions (Luke Bryan’s,
Luke adapted an old bank building
Johnny Cash & Patsy Cline Museums)
Bill Miller, really jump started the star/bar rush on LB, beginning with the wildly successful Cash Museum, adding Patsy later.
while one of the nonaffiliated spots, Nashville Underground, includes LB’s only bowling alley!
Yes, you can bowl on LB! Note Acme and sculpture in distance
Acme Feed and Seed at the bottom of LB has spectacular views overlooking the river and of nearby Nissan Stadium, home of the NFL’s Tennessee Titans.
We’ll then go back up the other side, starting at 1st Avenue and the Hard Rock Café, a very early arrival and another factor in the area’s growth.
Your horse drawn carriage awaits!
We’ll take a visit to Chief’s,
And for a gaudy, buksy, fabulously colorful approach
Eric Church’s new spot
Morgan Wallen allegedly threw a chair over the front side, narrowly missing two policemen six stories below. Note extension which was installed post incident. Wallet was booked on two felonies and a misdemeanor, posted $15,000 bail and hopefully will avoid such incidents in the future.
More from Chief’s rooftop bar
and then amble up Broadway,
Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Boot stores are also veterans of LB
Right now Miranda is the only contemporary female artist with her own honky tonk!
ending up at what must be the most action-packed block of the eight we have traversed, with Legends Corner, Tootsie’s, The Stage, Robert’s Western World and more!
And here we are back where we started, just across them the 17,000 capacity Bridgestone Aren
Home to the Predators but also host to many popular music concerts, coin try, rock, pop, hip-hop etc.
Now it’s time to get some serious exercise, no more ambling, just climb on one of of these babies and not only can you pedal away the pounds, you can also keep pouring the suds!
You won’t be hearing many ballads on these babies!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and will indulge a few closing comments. I haven’t included the Ryman, “The Mother Church of Country Music” as it stands alone towering over all the Broadway spots in importance. It’s hot on LB, but is within the 100’ foot boundary for this article.
While plenty of these spots can boast of performers who helped get their career going by performing there Sadly, the artists in their licensed venues rarely perform there.
It’s also ironic that steamboat magnate Thomas Ryman who built the auditorium, was a teetotaler - would he be horrified to see beer, wine and liquor freely dispensed within the Ryman itself? And what would he think of the dozens of bars as he walked down LB from fifth to the Cumberland river?
Let’s say that Lower Broadway is Nashville’s Street of Dreams.
Bon Voyage!
