Poop on the Loop
Yes, it's the tunnel again
Here’s what the MCL will look like IF it is built Photo: TBC website
Let us revisit the Music City Loop, the 19-mile tunnel Elon Musk’s The Boring Company (TBC) plans to build to connect downtown with BNA, in I believe we were told “about eight minutes”.
TBC. has announced that there are “45 permits and approvals” they must secure before the serious digging begins. Gee, wouldn’t you think they might have begun this process BEFORE announcing this grandiose project?

According to very insightful posts by Gerald H. on Next Door, there are serious geological issues explained by a Professor of Geology, who mentions that our water table is very close to the surface as opposed to other cities where the water table is hundreds, even thousands of feet down.
He and others point out that TBC has conducted “test bores” in two locations on Broadway and at 2312 West End, again something that one would expect to be done weeks ago. And TBC is saying well, they might be building another tunnel between these points.
By now, the state Legislature the Music City Center, Lower Broadway, the East Bank/Donelson and Opryland have nominated themselves for stops. The tunnel project has gone beyond being a “Clown Show” to some new level of ridiculousness heretofore unexplored.
There’s some serious imbibing of what I will call “Musk ade” going on.

Here’s a trip into the logistics.
Let’s call the entry site on Rosa Parks Blvd GZ, where they have begun diffing the entry hole That’s where the Tesla SUVs will go to the airport on one side and receive SUVs from the airport on the other. TBC are telling us each SUV can carry five people (with luggage?).
How soon can another SUV depart for BNA? Will it have to wait for the first to arrive and be hoisted up for unloading and reloading for the trip back to GZ?
But maybe that 2nd SUV can leave after the first is five minutes into its journey. A third car heads for BNA 5 minutes after that, as does a fourth SUV. So, we have moved 20 people to BNA in 20 minutes, 60 per hour. So we now have rout cars in action. Call them GZ1, GZ2, GZ-3 and GZ-4.
Meanwhile the first car from the airport, BNA #1 has arrived at GZ. BNA#2 is about to arrive at GZ.
Then what?
This being a 1-wqy tunnel BNA#1, 2 and GZ1 and 2 must continue on the loop, thus becoming as unto an underground 5 passenger city bus/SUV. Suppose 5 board at Stop 1, the Legislature? The vehicle will then have to bypass Stops 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, the Music City Center, Lower Broadway, the East Bank/Donelson and Opryland. That was Car BNA#1, BNA #2 unloaded at GZ as has GZ1. But wait, what are the chances of someone at stops 3,4,5 & 6 boarding as chances are the SUV will fill up from Stops 1 & 2.?
We can all ponder this for a bit while I ready Part II, further explorin
g the logistics and exploring who might use this should it actually be completed.
